Well said. I would probably hate Pronger too if he wasn't on my team, but I highly doubt anyone would not take him if they had the chance. As for Ottawa, I am thinking it wont even be close. If Backstrom, Luongo and Hasek can't stop the Ducks, who in their right mind thinks Ray Emery can?

I'll try to not whine too much. Been too busy to post but here it is.

It was a great series, hard to believe it was "only" 6 games. The Wings proved a ton. While many pundits predicted the Ducks will win the Cup few of them gave the Wings a chance of getting past Round 1. If games were won based upon heart the
Cup would be coming home to Hockeytown. I think the Wings outplayed the Duckies 55/45 and by that measure deserved a better fate. It proves a "lucky bounce" here and there is an absolute prerequisite for any team to win the Cup. It is that
grueling of a ride. That is not a knock on the Duckies, but where would you be if the pucks late in Game 5 were cleared like they should have been? The Ducks need to play better or the Senators will kill them. Ottawa smoked Buffalo, and Alfredson is on a mission. It does not bode well for the Duckies.

I can't let it go without one last shot at Prongster. The guy bitching about the "Canadian media" causing his suspension was too much. If the mother f'r did that shit in "real life", or recreational hockey league, he would be in jail. You may root for the guy because he is on "your" team, but I refuse to give him a free pass for a blatant, deliberate attempt to SERIOUSLY injure Holmstrom (or anyone else). He is a dirty player, a cheap hit artist, and just a big pussy. Fuck you
Prongster.

IF the Duckies win the Cup they should engrave "ASSHOLE" for Prongster, although that aptly fits Brian "Very Vivid Imagination" Burke too. Yea, Fuck You too, Burke.

Now that that is out of my system I will pull for the Sens. Sorry Duckies fans, but simply putting Prongster's name on the cup would be a disgrace. I would love nothing more than to see his so-called marvelous career end without his name appearing on the Cup.

Plus, I just think Ottawa is in better shape to win 4 more games!

P.S. Your coach looks like Howdy Doody!

When it's all said and one and the Ducks easily dispense with the Senators, the 2007 Stanley Cup will be remembered more for the Ducks/Red Wings series - much the same way as people think that the Red Sox comeback against the Yankees in New York was better than the actual World Series. I don't even remember who the Sox beat in the Series, but who could ever forget coming back against their arch enemies from a 0 - 3 deficit?

GO DUCKS!!!!

I am a different Dan than who writes this blog, the Dan who writes this blog is about as objective as you can get, for someone who loves his team as much as he does, and wouldn't say what I said. I do believe the Red Wings/Ducks series was absolutely amazing to watch, the wings put up one hell of a fight as did the Ducks, but now its time to move on to the Senators and for the Wings to look to next year. I said what I said in response to the blog cause honestly why does it matter what Red Wings fans want to complain and fuss about anymore? They are as of last night no longer relevant this season, they can use all the shoulda, coulda, wouldas on their own boards, and Ducks fans shouldn't brag on Wings sites for the same reason, they no longer matter.

"This is a text world, the sense of the words are interpreted by the reader, I think you just didn’t read it like I intended."

Very possible. You've been mostly gracious. I'd say you're about 60/40 on being homer/objective :-)

But if you're going to make statements like "who gives a rats ass what the Red Wings fans have to say about anything anymore" then you really shouldn't wonder why you get attacked. People don't forget comments like that and it has an effect on how they interpret future statements.

I would like to see less of people letting a few rabid morons from each side cloud the discussions that the more reasonable fans are having, and the opinions they have of each other. Every team has some idiotic fans, but some more than others *cough*Avs*cough*

Whoops, I edited the post and accidentally deleted it instead.

No, no emails, just people bashing me.

And as for "Red Wings fans just don't get it", that was said in the context of how much I enjoyed this series and thought the Wings played a great brand of hockey. How sick I am of having to say that and you guys don't get it that I think they played so well, not to say that I think they played badly and the Ducks kicked their ass. This is a text world, the sense of the words are interpreted by the reader, I think you just didn't read it like I intended.
